GENERAL INFORMATION FOR 2019 FALL FORUM

From Melissa Lido, Fall Forum Coordinator:

I am excited to be coordinating Fall Forum for NCJCL this year! The NCJCL Executive Board is working diligently with the Classics Society at UNCG to provide a fantastic fun-filled event for you! UNCG’s Classics Society is putting on “Classics Day” with a ton of interactive activities: military drills, gladiatorial games, a Roman wedding, tomb stone making, plus so much more! In addition, NCJCL Executive Board members will be hosting workshops where you can send a few delegates from your chapter to find out more about publicity activities, service projects, scrapbook making, and other things to make your chapter successful!

This year’s date: Saturday, November 10th. Please read the following information carefully to ensure that your registration is processed within a timely manner. We request that you register ON TIME so that the Classics Society can have enough supplies ready for the booths they are hosting. The regular deadline for submitting Fall Forum registrations is October 30th. The LATE PAYMENT deadline, and the absolute last day registration can be received, is November 6th. There will be a $20 late fee per school. Nota Bene, if you register late for the event, some activities may not be available to you, including certamen.

When you arrive at Fall Forum, please come to the welcome table to check in. Please bring your signed waiver forms with you to turn in. Here you will receive a registration packet with the following items enclosed: programs, lunch tickets, and certamen team brackets.

I look forward to seeing you in November!!!

This year's theme: "BEE a Team Player: Support the Hive".

Chariot Racing

Schools wishing to participate in the must bring their own chariots. The chariot races are done in two heats: one female charioteer and four male "horses" and one male charioteer and four female "horses." Charioteers must wear the proper protective gear, to include helmets. Please refer to the NCJCL handbook for more information.

Certamen

Schools will once again have the opportunity to compete in Casual Certamen as school teams of up to four players (two per level) or on a wild card team with teammates from around the state. Sixteen total players may enter per level. If you have two school teams, you may enter 8 players per level to play as wildcard.

Parking

You can view a campus map at http://www.uncg.edu/online-map/ .  Buses should park on Kenilworth or Stirling Street in designated parking.  Extra bus parking can be found at the end of Kenilworth. If you are driving cars, you can park in any parking deck. Otherwise, pay close attention to which lots have weekend parking to avoid receiving a ticket from university traffic patrol.
