Trivia INFORMATION & RULES

Instead of the normal game, we will implement a team trivia type game for Certamen. Please note: this is not intended to replace Certamen. We will still hold the state competition in as close to a normal way as possible.

We are offering 2 trivia team games: 

• Certamen Style Trivia - Certamen topics & questions
• General Trivia - Topics vary based on student interest
  • Suggest topics for general trivia here!
• BOTH WILL BE HAPPENING AT THE SAME TIME, so choose carefully :)

Teams

• Schools may enter as many teams as they want of five players or less
• Students can form their own teams with members from multiple schools
• Students may express interest to be placed on a wild card team with members from different schools

For Certamen Style Trivia, there will be at least 2 levels: Lower, Upper and Middle School (if enough interest)

• Lower: students in Latin I or Latin II + middle school students (if there is no separate level)
• Upper: students in Latin III or above

Game Format

• PLAYERS WILL NOT BUZZ IN; MULTIPLE TEAMS CAN GET POINTS ON EACH QUESTION.
• Students will answer via a shared Google Sheet that the moderator/host shares.
• There will be four rounds of 10 questions each.
  
• Certamen Style Trivia questions will fall under the following categories:
  • Vocabulary & Latin Language
  • Mythology
  • Roman History
  • Roman Life
  • (Latin Literature for Upper level only)
